Our foundations
The London College of Shiatsu was established in 1987. Our purpose is to teach the style of Shiatsu studied by its main teachers in Japan at the Iokai Centre and under Takeo Suzuki. The College is fully ratified by Shiatsu Society, UK.

Our approach
We teach and promote meridian and zone therapy as a gentle yet effective therapeutic style of Shiatsu. Our practical and down to earth approach is accessible to anyone, whatever their previous experience.
Three-year Shiatsu Practitioner Course
Qualify as a Shiatsu Practitioner with our Diploma course
The College offers a three-year Shiatsu practitioner course. This level 4, nationally recognised qualification consists of practical Shiatsu classes as well as theory classes in western sciences and oriental medical theory. The College also offers final year students the opportunity to enter a supervised student clinic.

The next intake for beginner / new students onto the Level 4 Shiatsu Practitioner Diploma course is:
Sunday 11th Oct 2026 10.00am-4.00pm
The course then continues biweekly, every other Sunday

The College offers an opportunity for members of the public to book a Shiatsu treatment at our unique student clinic. This service has limited availability and is by appointment only.

Introductory day
Our next Shiatsu course introductory day is:
Monday 27th April 2026 6.30pm-9.00pm
This is a very hands on evening where all participants learn and practice a shiatsu routine. It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about shiatsu, our approach and the courses we offer.
